Exodus: Deliverer
Exodus 2:11-22 teaches us a crucial lesson: having a gift is not enough; God’s timing matters. If we move ahead of Him, we may face unnecessary struggles. But even when we misstep, God does not abandon us—He uses every season, even the wilderness, to prepare us for His perfect plan.
Sermon Outline
1. Awareness of our gift does not mean immediate deployment of that gift.
2. Passion without Patience leads to Problems
3. You can run, but you cant run from God or his calling.
Discussion Questions
1. Have you ever felt ready for something (a job, ministry, relationship, etc.), but the timing didn’t work out? How did you respond?
2. Read Exodus 2:11-12. What does Moses’ action reveal about his passion and gifting? How do you see his leadership potential?
3. Read Exodus 2:13-15. Why do you think the Israelites rejected Moses' attempt to lead? What does this teach us about stepping into leadership too soon?
4. Read Exodus 2:16-22. How did Moses’ time in the wilderness prepare him for the future? What do you think he learned during this season?
5. What are some ways God might be using your current season—especially if it feels like a wilderness—to prepare you for future opportunities?
