Exodus: Hand and Hearts

Imagine a community so moved by the presence of God that generosity overflows, talents are offered freely, and there's no shortage in building what God has asked. Exodus 35–39 is that picture—a blueprint not just for the tabernacle but for the church today.

Sermon Outline
  1. Moved Hearts Lead to Overflowing Generosity
  2. Moved Hearts, move hands
  3. When we are obedient, there is no lack, only abundance.

Discussion Questions
  1. What stood out to you from the message or the passage?
  2. Can you recall a time when you saw God provide “more than enough” through the generosity or gifts of His people?
  1. Read Exodus 35:20–22. Why do you think God emphasized that giving came from “everyone whose heart was stirred”? How does that challenge our own view of generosity?
  2. In Exodus 35:30–35, how were Bezalel and Oholiab equipped for their work? What does this teach us about the connection between spiritual gifts and practical skills?
  3. In Exodus 36:5–7, the people gave so much that Moses had to tell them to stop. Why do you think their generosity was so overwhelming? What would it take for that kind of culture to exist in a church today?
  1. What skill, resource, or gift do you feel God has given you to contribute to His work? Are you currently using it? Why or why not?
  2. Generosity isn’t just financial. What are some other ways we can live generously in our daily lives?
  3. What barriers might keep someone from contributing their gifts or giving generously? How can we encourage each other to overcome those barriers?

PRAYER:
  • Pray for hearts that are stirred by God’s presence.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to show each person how they can contribute—whether through giving, serving, or building.
