Africa Expedition 2025
Good morning Church!
Yesterday we travelled from Nairobi to Kilgoris.
After a good nights sleep in CHAK we toured the Kiebera Slums (pics included) and then journeyed onward to Kilgoris. It is quite a drive but we had a good experience. We saw some baboons along the road as well as a few other small wild animals. Finally after around eight additional hours of traveling we arrived in Kilgoris to settle in to our home for the week. Lenamo Springs is the place we will call home as we minister here in town.
This morning we will be a great one as we will be joining Ezekiel and the church here for a morning of worship and teaching. Brian, Robert, and I will be preaching this morning. Uriah will be sharing testimony with the church congregation. Im sure the others will have opportunity to speak as well but we don’t have it on the schedule.
By far my favorite part of the day yesterday was delivering the news of the car to our brother and friend Ezekiel. Because of your generosity our team was able to surprise Ezekiel last evening with the news that the funds had been raised to aid him in purchasing a car, and he was so grateful. He tried his best to fight back tears and we all celebrated alongside him to his great news. This will be such an upgrade from a motorbike he currently has and will allow his family to be able to attend church together, weekly, for the first time since having his children. It was one of the most exciting moments in all my time with Ezekiel, as I have seen him struggle not being able to have his family join him for Sunday worship in the past. It reminded me of the smiles we saw on Eric and Stacey a few weeks ago as they posted about being able to ride to church together. Its a privilege often overlooked until its your life, then it is such a wonderful treat to spend that time with your entire family simply riding together to worship on a Sunday morning. Seeing his face light up when we told him was priceless. We did get a video but I’m not knowledgeable enough to upload it here. We will make sure you all have a chance to see it when we get back.
We are finishing breakfast and soon we will be heading to church. Please continue to pray for our team. We are all well and we are all excited for the time we have ahead of us this week.
We will do our best to represent the love you have all sent with us to these people. They are so grateful to our being here and to your sacrifice in helping us be able to come and do all the things we will do this week.
Until next time,
Todd Crabtree
