Joshua: The Scarlet Thread

Joshua 2 reminds us that God is often working long before we can see the evidence of it. While Israel is preparing to enter the Promised Land, God has already gone ahead of them and prepared the way in Jericho. Through Rahab, we see what happens when someone hears what God has done and chooses to trust Him before she sees the outcome. This chapter challenges us to trust God's promises, act on what we know, and remember that God is working even when we can't see it.

• What are you currently facing that makes it difficult to believe God is working because you can't see any evidence of it?

• Are you trusting God based on what He has said, or only when your circumstances give you reason to trust Him?

• What has God already told you to do that you're delaying because you don't know how the situation will turn out?

• Could your frustration with God's timing actually be revealing a lack of trust in God's sovereignty? Why?

• Where are you tempted to take control because you don't trust God to be working behind the scenes?

• If you truly believed God was already working ahead of you, what would you do differently this week?
