Hello Church!
We have travelled a long way and we are finally settled into our home away from home. We have been blessed with our travel this far and we are all heathy.
Everything up to this point has been exhausting. Long hours on planes and long hours driving across Kenya. We can not complain about any of it because we all know we are here to do what God has called us to. We know that tomorrow morning is the beginning of something great. There isn’t a lot to tell you at this point about the trip that will seem very meaningful, but I think we could all agree, avoid the Paris airport if you can fly somewhere else!
Our reuniting with George, Ptah, and Ezekiel was great and exciting as anticipated. Pastor Felix came along as well and was a welcomed bonus for us to be reunited once again with two of our favorite Kenyan pastors.
Tomorrow morning we will have breakfast and head out to the new church. We will meet many new pastors and greet many familiar faces from Kilgoris, of whom we have done ministry with many times. Door to door evangelism will keep us occupied until we brake for lunch then Robert Quick, or better known here as “the evangelist” will kick off the Book of James. Bro Robert Grimes will follow him and then Reggie Musgrove and I will wrap up the afternoon sessions sometime around 5pm. I think we are all excited to be here and ready to teach the material that we have been preparing for some time now.
It is near 3 in the afternoon Texas time but for us it is nearing 11 at night. So I will end this and try and get some rest. But before I go I would ask that you reading this, might pray for us to all be ready and rested tomorrow, pray that we might be able to sleep despite the time difference in our mind, pray that the hearts of those we will speak with tomorrow will be open and willing to receive God’s word, and that we will speak it out with boldness and clarity. Pray for the men doing the difficult work of translating and all those who are tasked with administration of this trip and keeping things organized. Pray however you feel led to pray but please remember us as you do your tasks this week.
