Sermon Notes: March 31st 2024

The life of Jesus was marked by distinct moments of separation.   His power over nature, sickness, the demonic and even death set him apart.   He has been the most polarizing figure in all of history, and even in his death we see moments of divine separation that ultimately pave the way to eternal life. In his life and death he was fully submitted to the plan and will of his father, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross (Philippians 2:6-11).

Divine Separation
  1. Jesus separates heaven and earth.
  2. Jesus separates the two thieves.
  3. Jesus removes the separation between us and the presence of God.
  4. Jesus separates us from our sin.
  5. Jesus separates us from death.

Questions for reflection.
  1. What does the resurrection teach us about God's power and love?
  2. Why is the resurrection such a central belief in Christianity?
  3. How does the resurrection offer hope or meaning in your life?
  4. In what ways does the resurrection challenge or affirm your faith?
  5. How does the reality of the resurrection influence the way you live your life?
  6. How can we share the significance of the resurrection with others who may not believe in it?
