Presence: The Name
Exodus 33:19-34:10
Moses, after the incident of the golden calf, has returned to Mount Sinai to commune with God once again. In this pivotal moment, God chooses to reveal Himself to Moses in a remarkable way. He proclaims His own name and describes His character in vivid detail.
We see Him as "The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin." These words paint a portrait of a God who is not only powerful and majestic but also deeply compassionate and merciful.
