Exodus: Impossible

Exodus 2:1-10

Life often presents us with situations that seem impossible, but God is always at work behind the scenes. In Exodus 2:1-10, we see how God sovereignly protects Moses, positioning him for His divine purpose. This passage teaches us about God’s providence, faithfulness, and the role of human obedience in His plan.

Discussion Questions

1. What were the challenges facing Moses’ family at the time of his birth? How do you think his parents felt? (Exodus 2:1-3) Read Hebrews 11:23 – How does this verse describe the faith of Moses’ parents? How can we apply this kind of faith in our lives today?
2. How did God use unexpected people (like Pharaoh’s daughter) to accomplish His plan? What does this tell us about God’s sovereignty? (Exodus 2:5-10)
3. Have you ever been in a situation where you had to take a step of faith without knowing the outcome? How did you respond?
4. Jochebed (Moses Mother)  had to let go of Moses and trust God with his future. Is there anything in your life that you need to surrender to God right now?
5. How can we encourage one another to recognize and act on the opportunities God places in our paths?
